Terms

The agreement between you and Unison, written to be read rather than to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask and it will be rewritten.

Unison is made and operated by 10xS Devs, S.A. de C.V.. In these terms, "Unison" means the app and the service, and "we" means that company.

1. What Unison is

Unison is a diary of the records you listen to. It is free, carries no advertising and has no paid tier. It is young, which is not a disclaimer so much as a description: things change, and occasionally break.

2. Your account

One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Unison is rated 9+ and is not built for children under 13.

3. What you write stays yours

Your reviews, notes, lists and scores are your work and you keep them. By posting them you give Unison permission to store them and show them to the people you have chosen to show them to — which is exactly what the app is for, and nothing beyond it. Unison does not sell your writing, does not license it to anyone else, and does not use it to train anything.

Delete a review, a log or your whole account and it goes. What has already been quoted in somebody else's comment stays theirs.

4. What you may not do

Do not harass anybody, impersonate anybody, or post anything unlawful. Do not scrape the catalogue, attack the service, or try to reach data that is not yours. An account doing these things can be closed.

5. Where the records come from

Information about artists, albums and tracks comes from MusicBrainz, an open music encyclopaedia maintained by its community. Cover images come from the Cover Art Archive, a joint project of MusicBrainz and the Internet Archive. Unison is grateful to both and is not affiliated with either.

Unison does not own the cover art it displays. A sleeve is the work of the artist, the photographer, the designer and usually the label, and it remains theirs. It is shown here for one reason: so you can recognise a record you are looking at. If you hold rights in an image and would rather Unison did not show it, write and it will be taken down.

6. The service can change, and can stop

Unison is provided as it is. No promise is made that it will be available, that the catalogue will be complete or correct, or that nothing will be lost. Roughly one record in eight has no artwork, because no one has contributed one to the archive. Features may change or be removed.

7. Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like, from Settings; it takes your writing with it. Unison may close an account that breaks section 4, and will say why.

8. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that affects you, you will be told in the app before the change takes effect — not by a silent edit to this page.

10. Names that belong to other people

Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music and YouTube Music are trademarks of their respective owners. Unison is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Where Unison shows one of their names or marks it does so to identify the service a link opens in, and for no other purpose. Choosing a service inside the app only sets where the Listen button points — Unison holds no account with any of them, asks you for no credentials, and never plays audio itself.

Artist names, album titles and cover art belong to the artists, labels and photographers who made them. Unison shows them to identify the records you are writing about.

11. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Any dispute arising from them goes to the competent courts of the city of San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí, and both parties waive any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply to them.
